What brought you to Team KK? I heard through another team member Katie was looking for a groomer.
How did you get your start as a dog groomer? I was the receptionist for a Veterinarian. We lost our groomer and my boss asked me if I would be interested in grooming. I said WHY NOT, I’m always up for learning new things. I attended an 8 week grooming school in Moberly, Missouri in 1993. I do continuing education through grooming seminars, webinars and blogs.
What’s your favorite part of grooming appointments? Spending time with the dogs ♥️
What do you wish people knew about pet grooming? It’s a very physical job that takes an extensive amount of time for many breeds. If owners could help brushing/combing even just a couple of days a week it would tremendously help their groomer and reduce the excess time and stress their pet may experience while grooming.
Any pets of your own? Yes, 5 Mastiffs. I own, breed, and show mastiffs.
Coach (fawn) 12.5 years old, Dierks (fawn) 10 years old, Victoria (fawn) 6 years old, Kiarna (brindle) 4 years old, Demi (fawn) 1 year old. Coach, Dierks, and Victoria are all AKC Grand Champions. Kiarna hated the show ring so she is the Champion of Chasing Squirrels 🐿. Demi is just starting her show career and already has points toward her Championship.
Favorite snack? Almonds
Favorite movie? Grease
Who would play you in the movie of your life? Laura Dern
Biggest pet peeve? Dishonesty
Favorite part about KK? Dogs 🐶 and the team members I’ve interacted with are all fantastic!
What’s your ideal Sunday look like? lounging in the family room with the dogs, watching a Chiefs game.
Any hidden talents? I’m much more intelligent than I come across lol
